Argyll & Bute Council


Argyll & Bute Council is the local governing body responsible for providing essential services and overseeing the well-being of communities within the Argyll and Bute area including the mainland areas of Oban, Lochgilphead, and Helensburgh, as well as the islands of Coll, Colonsay, Tiree, Mull, Islay, Jura, and Bute.

As part of our commitment to supporting these remote communities, Hebridean Air Services operates Public Service Obligation (PSO) flights from Oban to Coll, Colonsay and Tiree on behalf of Argyll & Bute Council, ensuring vital air connections between the islands and the mainland. These PSO flights are crucial in maintaining accessibility and supporting the daily lives of residents across the region.

Western Isles Islands Council

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar 


Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, or the Western Isles Council, is the local authority responsible for the Outer Hebrides, including key locations such as Stornoway and Benbecula. The council provides essential services across this unique and remote region.

In partnership with Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Hebridean Air Services operates Public Service Obligation (PSO) flights between Stornoway and Benbecula, maintaining vital air links between the islands and the mainland. These flights play an essential role in ensuring accessibility and supporting the daily needs of residents throughout the Western Isles.

National Air Traffic Services


National Air Traffic Services (NATS) is the UK's leading provider of air traffic control services, managing the safe and efficient movement of aircraft through the country's airspace. NATS oversees air traffic at some of the busiest airports in the world and ensures that flights across the UK and beyond operate smoothly and safely. With a commitment to innovation and safety, NATS plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of air travel.

Hebridean Air Services collaborates with NATS to conduct vital flight inspections and surveys to ensure the safe and coordinated operation of our flights within the complex airspace of the Hebrides and mainland Scotland.

From ancient monuments and historic buildings to archaeological sites, HES safeguards the nation’s cultural landmarks for future generations. As the guardian of over 300 properties across Scotland, including castles, abbeys, and standing stones, Historic Environment Scotland plays a vital role in conserving the country's history and making it accessible to the public.
